Community College of Philadelphia Reviews

The Community College of Philadelphia is a great school, with passionate professors who really want to see every student succeed. Classmates have been consistently kind and eager to help classmates in class, the library, or via messages. There are many resources to help find childcare, clothe students, give students nutritious vegetables (fresh from the community college), free tutors, and even help filing taxes! Unfortunately, the cafeteria is atrocious and only open until 2pm, and most resources are only available from 8am-5pm which means night students are not able to take advantage of these phenomenal opportunities. The common spaces are always clean, but unfortunately the library is often one of the loudest spaces in the school. Before attending, I was nervous to re-enroll, but after interacting with the compassionate, inspiring professors, I now look forward to each new semester.
The environment is great and I enjoy going to school there. I just wish there was more campus life and activities to go outside of class. I also would have like to see me athleticism and games from the sports team. Overall though, I really live CCP!
I find that my experience at CCP was enlightening, but could have been more nurturing, People are very busy and sometimes too busy to help. It is a nexus for opportunity but you really have to be driven. It can operate sometimes as if it is meant to support people that already have the drive, rather than people that need a push. I think that is why our graduation rates stay so low (4%). Most drop out and many never graduate. Good experiences are possible here. While the school is so big, the motivated circles are much smaller. This could be nice, as it can feel like whatever experience you make it out to be. I dislike the customer is always right kind of service at advising and under many professors, where they are meant to be more agreeable than constructive. I want to go to a constructive transfer institution. If I was doing well as I was, I wouldn't be trying to better myself at a college. I wish that CCP was more formative, as it should focus on building its students.
