I transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver my second semester of freshman year. Making the switch was one of the best moves I've ever made. I am getting the best criminology education in the state for a fraction of the cost.

The first time I had applied to MSU in 2011, I was cutting it close to the deadline. Although I had been living in Denver since 2009 and had a housing lease and work records to show it, I didn't have a Colorado ID so I was declined as being a resident and was unable to afford out of state tuition. I reapplied in 2015 and was accepted and the process was much smoother.

I really enjoy the diversity of the school, it makes me feel more comfortable. Because it is in an urban setting, many people commute to and from the school. The teachers that I have had so far have mostly been very helpful and considerate people. MSU is an affordable option for higher education.
