I would attend University of Pittsburgh again. I applied to continue my education at this school in pursuit of my masters. I thought the professors were good and the classes were challenging but informative. The food around campus in Oakland is pretty good and you have a lot of options all within walking distance. The dining hall food was average. This campus also seems to constantly be under construction which was annoying at times. I stayed at Sutherland Hall my freshman year and liked it because they were bigger rooms with jack and jill bathrooms. The walk was a bit longer to classes but was worth it. I would stay out of towers. Another thing I really liked was that you got free access to the port authority buses. There are also several gyms and pools. All of which I thought were good facilities with everything that I needed.
The University of Pittsburgh is an incredible school but more importantly, it's part of the fabric of an incredible city that should be better appreciated by students.
Going to the University of Pittsburgh was a wonderful experience. I took some really cool classes and met amazing friends, people who I will have lifelong friendships with. I think the area is great and always has something new for the students to explore. I think the only downsides to Pitt are the food is not great and transportation is iffy.
I had an amazing time at Pitt-- although I was not on campus my sophomore year due to Covid-19, I felt that the school really provided us as many resources to help us succeed. The professors are incredibly educated and while it can at times be difficult to get by in classes, the professors prioritized teaching us how to have grit and persevere when those times got tough.
Pitt cared more about the athletics department than they did about the safety of their students and whether or not students had adequate housing. The university constantly pours money into building athletic arena while tearing down dorm housing.
I really like the campus and I've also had good experiences with majority of my professors. I feel like I learn a lot in each of my classes and I'm being prepared well for my future. I would change the food; I honestly just threw money away by purchasing a meal plan. I would also change academic advising; it takes so long for my advisor to respond to me, and it's caused serious issues with my class schedule.
I felt that the education I received at Pitt was top tier, and even better than what I received later at a private graduate school.
Socially, the university has multitudes to offer, countless clubs and organization and events from farmers markets to concerts, fireworks, food trucks and group fitness classes there is always something to do on campus. However, if campus recreation is not what you are interested in, the university is located in the perfect spot with access to downtown city, amazing restaurant, theaters, hiking trails and more. Academically there are several opportunities to be intellectually challenges both in the classroom and outside of the classroom with research, internships, lectures and more. I have admittedly had some qualms with a number of professors here, whether it be expecting unreasonable amount of commitment, writing unfair exams, or arrogant attitudes however I have also experience some professors that greatly impacted my collegiate experience. I would like to note that as someone who is gluten free I have not had a positive experience with dinning on campus.
Pitt gave me the college experience I needed. There is a good balance of academics and life, with neither overpowering the other. You don't need to be heavily involved to have a social life, but there are ample opportunities to get plugged in if you wish. The professors have all been hard, but fair, and I can truly say that I have enjoyed almost every class I have taken here. The campus is in the city, and so everything is condensed. This means that the campus feels smaller and makes it feel homey.
I like Pitt, there’s something for everyone and it’s a cute little college town. It has its downsides, being an urban campus safety is always a concern but the area is relatively safe in my opinion, and things like dorm life and meal plans are what they are. Overall decent student life though, and academically rigorous.
Pitt is a pretty strong school in terms of student life. The campus is very active when the weather is good (which is not often). However, academics are subpar and have lacked a challenge and many introductory courses have lackluster professors. Campus housing is fine and serves you well enough for the year but options for off-campus and on-campus housing are difficult to obtain. Additionally, the food is very mediocre, in fact, the numerous raw chicken breasts I have cut into have made it less than appealing. Sports wise, the environment is always great but certain sports aren't as strong.
My experience at University of Pittsburgh was absolutely amazing. the campus was beautiful and the professors were so knowledgeable and supportive. I made some incredible friends and had the opportunity to participate in various clubs and activities. The university also provided great resources like libraries and study spaces. I loved the vibrant city life in Pittsburgh, with so many cultural events and delicious food options.
University of Pittsburgh is unique in that the campus is surrounded by the city life. There are normal civilians that you will see on the street on top of college students. The only thing I struggled with at Pittsburgh is the academics. They are super challenging. My advisors have switched about 4 times since I have been here and it becomes challenging to know what they know.
The University of Pittsburgh is a school that I have found a home at. The education I am receiving as well as the memories I am making with the friends I have found here is unlike any other. I feel seen and as though my professors genuinely care about me succeeding in my classes. I love the local area, and the way the campus feels like city-life but also a sense of home.
I really liked pittsburg. The campus itself was interesting and busy even in the snow and ice. Theres tons of food options throughout campus that encompass a variety of diets.
I really enjoyed being at Pitt. I met a lot of amazing professors that helped boost my confidence and make me feel as if I have something going on in life! Really inspired me to do a certain job in the future.
I am planning on attending in the fall semester. I am a senior in highschool. I have toured and loved how easy it was to access all of campus within 15 minutes. I also think their safety precautions are comforting because the campus is part of the city.
I really enjoyed the variety of classes that were offered, making it fun to take general education requirements. I wish that there were more opportunities for online learning, as there has been a heavy online shift after COVID.
University of Pittsburgh is very diverse in terms of courses. Pursuing a history major, all of the professors are very knowledgable and used to teaching. Every method is different from one another in terms of teach style and the fact that all of it works shows that each professor knows what they are doing. Facilities are also up to date for the most part and combining all of that gave me a very good experience, even with so much more in the future than current times.
The campus is beautiful and the classes are very competitive. There are so many opportunities here and every interest I have has a club or a group I can be a part of.
